Lagos State is a state in southwestern Nigeria. Of the 36 states, it is both the most populous and smallest in area. Lagos State was formed from the Western Region and the former Federal Capital Territory on 27 May 1967. Lagos is a megacity and has the fourth-highest GDP in Africa (If it was a country) Lagos houses one of the largest and busiest seaports in Africa.
